Chinese New Year 2012

Of course 2012 being the year of the Dragon it's to be the best year; we shall see right?

Usually party animal me is out and about partying on the weekend with friends, however this year I decided to do something a bit more intimate and fun - House party!! My friend ended up hosting at her flat, everyone was to dress up in stereotypical Chinese for the event; so I ended up dressing up as the Chinese envelope!! (紅包/利事) Traditionally given during Chinese New year and contain money ^.^ though during the party a lot of friends kept asking for money off me -.-" I should of dressed up as a dumpling instead though finding/ making a hoop was too much effort for the round shape look I had in my head!

Fun and games were played- hanging a piece of lettuce from the ceiling and you're blindfolded to catch it, whilst hoisted piggy-back wise, lots of drinking and setting off floating lanterns into the sky, though nature did take it's course a bit bit blowing a few into the trees >.<' fortunately no fires were created

This was definitely a fun Chinese New Year Night out, something different away from the typical Chinese nights out in London like JnG, K Pop or Chi Night which was all the way in Greenwich at the O2 - TOO FAR!!! Plus, house parties are always much cheaper!!

恭喜發財 to everybody!!! (Happy Chinese New Year) 心想事成!! (Hope your dreams will come true)

Fun of a night with a bit of fancy dress

My friend roped me to go along with her to an end of Season Dragon boating party; twist was it was fancy dress & the theme was "Back in Time" Last weekend (been slow on the blogging especially photo uploading! >.<¨)

Sometimes I really hate fancy  dress theme parties, because the themes are usually unimaginative, and tacky like Angels & Devils, Back to School, Playboy Bunnies - themes I really hate & would throw up over.

It's also a shame that not all would dress up or would do a half arsed effort towards it.

With "Back in Time" I thought ok, can work with this as it's so broad, I wanted to keep it simple but effective; and of course use my creativity &; styling skills ^.^

So I decided to do an 80s feel with David Bowie as the muse- Bright colours especially with the make up & accessories -^.^-

My friend was having a lot of fun applying the bright make up on herself as it's so out of her comfort zone. Sometimes it's fun to experiment

I was impressed with how some people made effort with their looks though 30% of the crowd were dressed normal, though when the people dressed up, they made effort, particularly loved Adam & Eve in their flesh colour costumes with leaves covering the appropriate places!

Shabba dabba Rah!!

Shabba Dabba Dah is the monthly event over in Shoreditch's Avalon club. Filled with all the fashion clad who dress to the nines in how they feel and won't be Judged but admired and complimented. It's the new wave from the Boombox Scene.

Now West London has now launched Shabba, where the night is called Shabba Dabba Rah Friday night was it's first launch night over at Movida by Oxford Circus.

As I was waiting for a friend to get into the club, I was very confused. There was a queue if girls dressed in tight body con dresses, high heels, fake tan and hair extensions; very Only Way is Essex type of crowd. I was thinking this crepe I'm sure are not for Shabba!!

The club was actually split into two sections, bottom part with dance floor for the crowd mentioned above and the top section was for Shabba and the fun artistic gashionistas.

I really do admire what the crowd stylize and create with their outfits or makeup.

Music-wise there was dance, house, dub step overall some not bad music played; however I will say that music in Shabba Dabba Da is more fun with feel good vibes. Maybe it was because it was a Friday night, my work mate & I felt so tired and left the venue 2-3am, could have been long day in the office, the darkness of the venue or the mixed drinks we consumed!

Fashion Weekend Blow out

Ok So I promised myself as a Resolution that I am to party less. London Fashion Week is to be vetoed, as I am someone who works in the fashion industry it’s my right to mingle, check out, drink up and have fun! I will admit I’m not as fast in updating the blog compared to fashion bloggers who can work on their smart phones. Hahaha

So starting with after work on the Friday evening, my colleague and I decided to get food from Pizza Express by Oxford Circus as she had a promotional voucher, pretty good, and the distance to Jaluose is in walking distance where Jean Pierre’s after show party was held. What was pretty kool was spotting Suzie Style Bubble in Pizza Express!

Jalouse was a really fun environment everybody dressed amazingly music was fun, interesting to See Luke Worral Djin, but since he’s a Shabba Resident no surprise.

What’s nice about Fashion parties is the good music, performances that happen and of course the free drinks!!! Mehrdad my work mate impressively downed 7 glasses in the space of 2½ hours

Next Evening was Piers Atkinson’s event at a Pop up Bar in Soho, an en route location for people towards Belle Sauvage’s after show party in Sketch. The artwork was pretty awesome, and quirky though I can imagine them to be either show pieces or worn to the races to stand out. The Absolute Vodka cocktails in different flavors were strong and free as were the cans of Red Bull, needed pick me ups from hectic rushing around from A to B events in Central.

The Live Music by Anna Pigalle was disappointing; I heard from acquaintances that the last performance she was entertaining playing the accordion!

Finishing the night slightly sobering up in Abacus Bar in Bank for some K pop music and dancing, feet killed but was a very good night!!

Back to partying!

As most people who know me, I am a character who enjoys being out and about partying, but recently I've been really quite and not partied!

On Saturday I decided to party out over to Shoreditch for Shabba's Magazine Launch party. My Big Bro was up in London for the weekend and  I was chatting to him and sayin how I haven't been out for quite a while. He replied back to me saying "7 days isn't a long time" (-.-") It's been Longer than 7days! More like 3weeks!!! Tiger Tiger wasn't even that fun!

So I partied out with a few friends, got in for Free fortunatley as my Mates housemate was Djing.

Drinks were mixed fun fun music was played a real variety of a crowd always is for a fashion party; I felt so small as many were in towering heels including some guys

Very good party, wanna party some more now but Holiday on the way!

I'll fill you guys in on my many antics soon!

So let start with the bank holiday weekend, back in the Shire! Me and Laura us 2 typicals decided to rave it up in good old Tina Arena, Cream's Trance night, dressing up artistically bright and colourful ^.^ I'll admit, I'm jealous of Laura's signature accessory, her Gameboy Colour necklace!

Music was amazing, shame not so much of a big turn out in the club, was so good when they played the likes of Infected Mushroom, typical Trance tunes!

I'll share one of their tunes with you guys, expanding the mind!

Snow Trip Part deux

Since last post I mentioned the journey getting there, here's the anecdote of the 21 of us partying it in the evening @ Alpe D'Huez!

Evenings were very Epic! We all chipped money towards alcohol and brought @ the Duty Free on the boat… My GOD! We brought A LOT! & aimed to drink most of it in drinking games and what nots. I mixed my drinks, drank in a pint glass played Ring of Fire, Asian Flush kicked in and I’m a lightweight; oh well! Some random girl decided to piss literally outside my mate's flat! bang out of order! some 19 year old boy came into our gathering chatting up (attempting) some of the girls; FAILED! and cried when Mahavasee told him to "FAWK AWWF!" hahahaha! it became her phrase!

plenty of Korean music played and dancing, Chinese people can be such lightweights with the liquor, well we're a cheap date! hehehehe Jokes!

If any of you guys got me on FB you'll see our antics from the films and photos! I've got lazy to blurb about this little adventure! hehe! ^.^

Fashion week (18th-24th Feb)

London Fashion Week. Holly Crap, I do swear Fashion Week does take it’s toll on people in the fashion world, including myself >.<”So there were a few parties I did end up going to as +1s, it’s always good! Started off with Movida over off Oxford Cricus, Little fashion show happening over there kickig off fashion week with PA company LGN, was a good place, spacious some interesting collections in their little fashion show, and to my surprise a girl showing her work on the Catwalk from my Uni who was the year below me!! Have to say well done to her, she does vibrant clever knitwear pieces.

Then CNY party happened drunk, hangover and craving for egg & bacon sarnie!!

Monday, trying to recover from the busyness of the weekend, spontaneously joined my work mate to a fashion presentation launch over in Berwick Street’s Machine A where 4 designers were displaying their work around the shop. Big turn out free booze can’t complain, the collections – dark leathers bondage Gareth Pughesque I would say! There were some real amazing pieces on display! If it's still going on, I'd suggest you going to Check it out!

Tuesday was gonna go to the Basso & Brooke After party held @ China Whites, but bailed! Too tired & opted for Movie night of Hangover! + I made a promise!

The last evening and closing of fashion week. Attended another LGN event held over in South Ken in a club called Boujis. The collections
were either weak or just a lot of styling, the pieces weren’t all so amazing, there was a collection I did like, though cleverly styled, very dark, Tim Burton styled work. I even saw the muse in the audience face all glittery black with silver aviators, pretty kool I must say.

There was also a guy that caught my eye, they way he styled himself was so quirky American Kanye influenced, wearing specs, red Fair Isle cardigan, bold colour beads & the key accessory piece, a necklace with a Rubik’s Cube as a pendant! AMAZING! I want one!!! Surprisingly finished the night as a chilled out evening, with a stop off at Sketch in Central for a cocktail then home @ 1am!

Now need to cut back on the partying as I need to recover mind, body, soul and bank account!! >.<

Chinese New Year!

Ok so I know it started in last Sunday 14th Feb, was also the joys of Valentines. But Chinese New Year has different stages and so is celebrated through for a week possibly? I don’t know exacts with Lunar Calendar.

So the weekend of course partying it pretty hard SEone’s Shortie Party, not worth the pounds anymore even though was the second time I’ve been there, music was not impressive 1 DJ at a time so same music through 3 rooms! Have to admit there was quite the younger crowd in the club!

Oh the upper hand was good to do my typical thing of mingling with the different groups of friends drinking & dancing with them!

Conclusion, K poppin all the way! Much better music vibe & crowd!

Of course the Sunday I had to go check out the event Happening over in Trafalgar Square, my God China town was PACKED! Plenty of Lion Dancing around! Wanted Dim Sum but was a BIG queue in all the restaurants!

After lunching my friends and I checked out the performances in Trafalgar, was not bad, very busy, Lion dancing with 2 women at the heads of the lions really good! Of course typical me couldn’t help myself and nab a Chinese lantern! Oh yes I did! Hahaha!!

Of course why not end the eve with typical HK snacks and bubble tea! ^.^

SHOES!

Fair few of you would know that I’m a shoe lover more to handbags. Some of you guys know I invested in a crazy gnarly pair of heels 2nd most expensive I own and highest pair

I decided to wear them out to party on the weekend involving a bit of K Poppin down in Vauxhall! Man was so busy!! I was queuing for half hour to get in! But was all good moseying around dancing with different groups of mates, my usual! I think I only sat down for 5mins and danced most the night! Fun Fun tunes!

With my Carvelas, I didn’t need my party feet gel soles! I was completely fine my feet didn’t kill! Though I did slip once but serves me right bouncing up and down like a crazy that I tend to do as a happy drunk! Hehehe but my thighs are killing from the excessive dancing!

Overall good shoes! As I read in an article this week about women and footwear, possibly expensive shoes are better for the feet compared to cheaps, since the expensive ones I think take a bit more thought with the structure of feet possibly (skim read the article)? As well as they are actually more comfortable to cheapers that kill your feet, The Primark ones that were my highest heels, needed to gel soles to keep my feet not killing! Silicon gels for the feet are so handy for shoes that pinch but look good!

If I had the pounds I would love to invest in a pair of those McQueen Armadillo heels, they are so bizarre! They’ve had so much press and Lady Gaga’s donned a pair for her ‘Bad Romance’ MV. At 12inches high, I’m curious in how they would feel to walk in and if they’re too stupid to walk in, they’ll make good art pieces!!

Posting another Korean MV I Enjoy listening to but I'll give you guys 2 versions, one's the Original but Super Junior & Royal Pirate's rocky cover of the tune ^.^

Wedding of Simon & Novanne

Weddings are indeed a happy and memorable occasion.
Catching up and sharing a loving event with friends and family. The Registration office was a lovely Tudor building, very heritage.

As the bride and groom started signing the marriage certificate, the tears started from the Best man, and Grooms parents; which set the Groom and Bride off crying as well, such an emotional moment.

Evening dinner was held at the Guildhall in Coventry a very Traditional English location, next to the old Cathedral I think my history isn't that great!

Typical me being with the "cool" table, sat with a good bunch, we had a lot to talk about many interesting discussions, jokes and anecdotes to share, lot of laughs! Very sociable! I think we were the loudest table stuck between the Bride/Grooms who were at the top & other tables around us, they seemed much quieter than we were. The Lewis the Best Man and his Mum, were glad we were having a good time & knew we would be the best and lively table of the room!! (yes to the under 30s table!!)

After the dinner Groom & his old School mates went out to the court yard for a celebratory cigar, typical me I can't say no & decided to join the manly session! First time I've ever smoked a Cigar! Not bad! Though Yan my best mate who was also at the wedding said I'm becoming like my dad!

Dancing in the Hall was good! Lewis did some breaking with his crew who were really awesome & I couldn't get over one of the members did such a sick job with pop and locking, and he's 42!
DJ played chart tunes and of course classic floor fillers from the 90s! definitely couldn't say no to Dancing to Wigfield's Saturday Night, which I finally remember the moves
to, the Macarena, it's a must and YMCA!

fun fun times & congrats to the Happy Newly Weds! I wish them all the best

First dance was to this classic Chinese Love song ^.^

Partying it Devon Style

Partying in Devon and partying in London to say the least they do differ. London has a variety of clubs different sorts of music, different crowds. Exeter, city I was born and raised in, not as many clubs 6 (Hot house, Cargo (think they’re called that down by the Quay) Rococos, Cavern (more underground music) Timepiece and last but not least “Tina” Arena as my mates and I love calling it!)

Laura was my party buddy for the evening we were contemplating which club to go to, Arena or Rococos, ans where he majority of our mates went to, so Rococos!

I didn’t realise it was an over 25s night, explained the people in the club that night!

Music say the least was same old commercial charts to cheese of Cindi Lauper. Couldn’t believe a few of my friends from secondary school were down in that club as well! Haven’t seen them in LONG TIME!

What is it about my charm managing to chat to a load of random people? First was a plumber who actually went to

the same secondary school as me, and we were trying to remember all the teachers! Random guy on the dance floor who danced to outrageously for my liking I ran! Some foreign guy who kept patting my arse at the bar grr hate those men! Marines… says it all. Why do I attract the weirdos? It could’ve been worse, I could’ve been chatted up by some sleazy git who dwells in Burnhouse Lane and is on the Dole! (Burnhouse lane is the rough part of Exeter)

Dancing and drinking away 2 marines decided to dance with us, one of them picked me up twice! So what did I do when he picked me up the second time? Being typical me I picked him up back! Damn he was kinda heavy, (muscle’s heavier than fat) he got a bit shocked then I stated to him “how does it feel being picked up by a woman!”

Laura was pretty drunk dancing away, Corine, Becky & me had to help her pull her skirt down a fair few times as it kept riding up her arse, oh the “trauma” as Laura would put it! Even though i know she loves showing off her tattoos of Venus and David

After clubbing most people of course have the munchies, Laura wanted to faff about in The Golden Horn for a bit with our other mates, she cracked me up as she ate a piece of donner kebab saying, “it’s as dirty as 3 blondes having a threesome with a wooden block!”

Enough said for this section, they'll be something less crude in the next post!

So Long 2009 Welcoming 2010

Ok so here's one of me resolutions commencing after a few months of thinking about it!

I've decided to start blogging on things that interest and inspire me, fashion, arts, music & whatever comes to mind!

Partying into 2010 at JnG/K pop Party over in City, was pretty fun, the usual of me becoming the Happy Drunk & hug lifted a few of my friends (it happens!) Was so happy they played Korean Tunes that night! ^.^
I am still absolutely in love with Tae Yang's Wedding Dress song!

Click below to check it out! Happy New Year to you all!
