Fashion week (18th-24th Feb)

London Fashion Week. Holly Crap, I do swear Fashion Week does take it’s toll on people in the fashion world, including myself >.<”So there were a few parties I did end up going to as +1s, it’s always good! Started off with Movida over off Oxford Cricus, Little fashion show happening over there kickig off fashion week with PA company LGN, was a good place, spacious some interesting collections in their little fashion show, and to my surprise a girl showing her work on the Catwalk from my Uni who was the year below me!! Have to say well done to her, she does vibrant clever knitwear pieces.

Then CNY party happened drunk, hangover and craving for egg & bacon sarnie!!

Monday, trying to recover from the busyness of the weekend, spontaneously joined my work mate to a fashion presentation launch over in Berwick Street’s Machine A where 4 designers were displaying their work around the shop. Big turn out free booze can’t complain, the collections – dark leathers bondage Gareth Pughesque I would say! There were some real amazing pieces on display! If it's still going on, I'd suggest you going to Check it out!

Tuesday was gonna go to the Basso & Brooke After party held @ China Whites, but bailed! Too tired & opted for Movie night of Hangover! + I made a promise!

The last evening and closing of fashion week. Attended another LGN event held over in South Ken in a club called Boujis. The collections
were either weak or just a lot of styling, the pieces weren’t all so amazing, there was a collection I did like, though cleverly styled, very dark, Tim Burton styled work. I even saw the muse in the audience face all glittery black with silver aviators, pretty kool I must say.

There was also a guy that caught my eye, they way he styled himself was so quirky American Kanye influenced, wearing specs, red Fair Isle cardigan, bold colour beads & the key accessory piece, a necklace with a Rubik’s Cube as a pendant! AMAZING! I want one!!! Surprisingly finished the night as a chilled out evening, with a stop off at Sketch in Central for a cocktail then home @ 1am!

Now need to cut back on the partying as I need to recover mind, body, soul and bank account!! >.<

Chinese New Year!

Ok so I know it started in last Sunday 14th Feb, was also the joys of Valentines. But Chinese New Year has different stages and so is celebrated through for a week possibly? I don’t know exacts with Lunar Calendar.

So the weekend of course partying it pretty hard SEone’s Shortie Party, not worth the pounds anymore even though was the second time I’ve been there, music was not impressive 1 DJ at a time so same music through 3 rooms! Have to admit there was quite the younger crowd in the club!

Oh the upper hand was good to do my typical thing of mingling with the different groups of friends drinking & dancing with them!

Conclusion, K poppin all the way! Much better music vibe & crowd!

Of course the Sunday I had to go check out the event Happening over in Trafalgar Square, my God China town was PACKED! Plenty of Lion Dancing around! Wanted Dim Sum but was a BIG queue in all the restaurants!

After lunching my friends and I checked out the performances in Trafalgar, was not bad, very busy, Lion dancing with 2 women at the heads of the lions really good! Of course typical me couldn’t help myself and nab a Chinese lantern! Oh yes I did! Hahaha!!

Of course why not end the eve with typical HK snacks and bubble tea! ^.^

FAIL TO BAGS!!!

Haha don’t worry guys, I’m still sticking to my wager of shopping ban for 3 months, but I couldn’t help myself getting all these bags, I could of taken more but I got tired, what happens with 6 hours sleep, partying the night before and a big lunch!

Well fortunately the bags were free as I went to Pure London over at Olympia. Some of you who don’t know, Pure London is a biannual fashion trade show where suppliers, and brands show their work to buyers from all around to buy up and sell at their stores, separated in 4 sections, Accessories, womenswear, young fashion and footwear.

I couldn’t say no to free goodie bags, though most were empty, but it’s all-good they’re useful for shopping and carrying things I admit to possessing a lot of crap!

Some of you may guess I ended up checking out the footwear and Young fashion! Was more exciting compared to the boutique clothes that were more for the mature customer

I was quite surprised to see some brands I wouldn’t think would show, like of Baby Phat, Pepe Jeans, there was a label by Usher as well, forgot the brand. Of course there were some pretty stall particularly one very white chic looking & the had topless men giving away roses, being Valentines and all, but their clothes, made me want to throw up! Too girly & candy coloured for my liking!

But there were some stalls that were a bit too snooty, only letting buyers in and only gave a damn if you were a buyer; yea I had an exhibitor’s pass but it’s all good! Saves me paying £20 entry! But fair enough with these companies need their customers than people like us designers, fellow salesman, etc!

New Look in Ox Street

OK I admit I really should of posted this one last week but I get wrapped up in other bits! New Look's Opened it's new store in Ox Street Last Fri, I actually did go and check it out on that night after work; I wasn't shopping, only browsing & was on a hunt to buy a new book to read, Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman only took me a week to read!

So New Look's taken over the store that was Borders, sad times, 3 floors of clothing supplying to womens, Mens & kids, they even got the Starbucks there which is all good, suits the needs of all categories.
I forgotten that New Look do concessions and their diffusion ranges such as Idol and of course Giles Deacon's range!

I have to say Giles' capsule for menswear is really kool and quirky & the prices are amazing, all items under £35! I's loving the printed Tees and knitwear, shame i'm on a clothes shopping ban! Or if any of my guy mates posses I won't mind temporarily borrowing! hahaha
Can't complain, Tees for only £15!

Though NewLook are on a bit of my bad list temporarily as their HQ returned samples back
to us just in a mulch, no bag to put them in! Not professional!

SHOES!

Fair few of you would know that I’m a shoe lover more to handbags. Some of you guys know I invested in a crazy gnarly pair of heels 2nd most expensive I own and highest pair

I decided to wear them out to party on the weekend involving a bit of K Poppin down in Vauxhall! Man was so busy!! I was queuing for half hour to get in! But was all good moseying around dancing with different groups of mates, my usual! I think I only sat down for 5mins and danced most the night! Fun Fun tunes!

With my Carvelas, I didn’t need my party feet gel soles! I was completely fine my feet didn’t kill! Though I did slip once but serves me right bouncing up and down like a crazy that I tend to do as a happy drunk! Hehehe but my thighs are killing from the excessive dancing!

Overall good shoes! As I read in an article this week about women and footwear, possibly expensive shoes are better for the feet compared to cheaps, since the expensive ones I think take a bit more thought with the structure of feet possibly (skim read the article)? As well as they are actually more comfortable to cheapers that kill your feet, The Primark ones that were my highest heels, needed to gel soles to keep my feet not killing! Silicon gels for the feet are so handy for shoes that pinch but look good!

If I had the pounds I would love to invest in a pair of those McQueen Armadillo heels, they are so bizarre! They’ve had so much press and Lady Gaga’s donned a pair for her ‘Bad Romance’ MV. At 12inches high, I’m curious in how they would feel to walk in and if they’re too stupid to walk in, they’ll make good art pieces!!

Posting another Korean MV I Enjoy listening to but I'll give you guys 2 versions, one's the Original but Super Junior & Royal Pirate's rocky cover of the tune ^.^

Overdue exhibition trip

Whey! My first blog of the month! how pleasant ^.^

Nothing beats after a crazy night before, and a day after than just chilling out and unwinding. Perfect thing to do, lie
in! So glad I have my weekends back and can do that! ^.^ It’s such a treat especially since I was working 7days a week, so hardcore!

So weekend just gone, I had a well-needed trip to an exhibition! I decided to pop over to the V&A and check out the Decode Exhibition.

I couldn’t believe how busy the V&A was, but then again it is a weekend & a Saturday, so of course the majority are off and there’s no school.

Though I had time spare before being able to get to see the Decode exhibition, so of course why not take a won

der and explore the museum. Of course typical me will have a look at the fashion section of the museum, still same pieces that are kept in the archives and an exhibition on MA Student’s work and how they’ve been creative and applying their techniques into their collection. There were some interesting pieces around.

Exploring outside there was a few pieces of Decode exhibition work hanging around which was very quirky and clever.

Decode’s exhibition was very modern work, very interactive a new level of application of art into the 21st Century. This made me realise how much we do depend on technology. We’re the generation that is orientated by electronic gadgets. It can be a pain in the arse when it doesn’t work, but it can also be a beautiful aesthetic. In the exhibition there was an interactive music video of Radiohead’s ‘House of Cards’ music video where you were able to move the video at any video angle, was very clever!

There was another piece I would love to have, where there was this piece, consisting of 6 screens, it told the time but in images that represented numbers, so hours, minutes and seconds ^.^

I didn’t get to stay in the exhibition too long, was getting a bit too crowded for my liking but I suppose being in there for near over an hour was enough!
