Late Night At the Museum

Something new and good happening at the moment where Museums are doing days where they are opened till later in the evening for adults, so no kids running and screaming

I ended up going to the Science Museum, my first time ever going to that building at that! Some things were pretty interesting, but when it came to the very technical and physics side of things.... I kind of trailed off to my thoughts in Lala Land
There were some pretty awesome inventions displayed how products started off and what we see them as now; such as the the 1st Macintosh computer made out of wood and had a tiny screen!

I was completely amazed with the piece called "Sound Post"? it was a big display of small screens that display texts of messages live from chat rooms and the machine even read out some of the messages like "Gaga has a di-ck" millions of times! It's better to see this piece in real life!

Swiftly moving on! Main reason Adults only late night at the Museum, can drink around the exhibitions and the Silent Disco!! was so so fun!

Shame there was only 2 channels of music; so funny seeing people dancing differently to different beats and singing their hearts out, from old skool soul, a lot of funk, hip hop and electro. This was a happy night for me dancing aaway and it didn't cost me a penny! Love these kinds of evenings of a different kind ^.^

And so the Week of Busy Begins

I think this week is going to be like fashion week for me, lots of activities I'm doin!

Starting with Holy Fuck. They're a Canadian Band I checked out in Heaven last night. They play music that's electronic, very experimental and rock. Band I think have a similar sound, chemical Brothers kind of sound ^.^

The DJ before the band was pretty good, forgot his name, though he wore a tribal mask, very techno bass club type music, good tunes though felt it was still early to rave as it was only 8.30pm!

When Holy Fuck came on and played their tunes, it was good ^.^ crowd was quite chilled out dancing away, compared to a mosh pit at a rock gig where everyone crams to the front.

I find it so amazing that this band makes such good music that doesn't involve a computer to create such interesting electronic sounds consiting of drums, guitars, toy keyboards and other weird but wonderful tools!

Very happy I went to this gig, definitely nice to check out other genres of music that go on, good old Gig Buddy ^.^

West London

To be honest I don’t really explore this end of London, the Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea. The reason I go this time round…. Elephant hunting, but it’s been a good thing!

Exploring around Westfield, pish nothing special snapped up all the 4 elephants in there! Carrying on exploring west London, I headed for Notting Hill and Portobello Road area; there were elephants there ^.^

I decided to check out the famous market as it was a sunny day, why not; My God there were a lot of tourists checking out the market of all things antique and vintage, there were some very beautiful pieces of jewellery I wanted, though maybe another day, and a leather satchel as well.

Have to say this part of London, to live I won’t be surprised it’ll cost an arm and a leg, It is Zone 1 at that. I really didn’t understand why they were selling fur coats in the market; it was 27C outside today!!!!

Afterwards made my way down to Kensington area, passing the Royal Albert Hall, I definitely know I missed a few elephants there as I only found 2-3 and the map has more… I didn’t realised that venue is HUGE!

So down South Ken towards Knightsbridge. Really wanted a shisha as there were people smoking them outside the restaurant, and ooh Topshop’s launched there now! I damn it being a weekend as more people are out and about meaning they’re sitting on the plinths of where the elephants stand so no clean shot. Grrr

Any who my view of West London, is a very pretty area, good for the people with monies, I looked tacky in my chilled out look of baggy tee ¾ length trousers and flip flops, haha, weekend dress down! ^.^

But I did try a very summery dress from Uniqlo for fun; a check strappy cross front dress... def not my style!

Living wise I’m happy in the other West, South West!!

As some of you people will know, London has quite a lot of Elephants hanging around London until July before they're auctioned, funding towards raising awareness to saving the Elephants as they're an endangered species

It's amazing how many are around and they're just randomly placed, and I swear they're moving around! and the designs are so unique and funky! Designs of elephants ranging from fine art Artists to fashion designers!

It's fun and a good excuse to explore London, Elephant hunting!!! ^.^

Aqua Couture

I made a nice little discovery as I was doing late night shopping with my Cousin down Carnaby Street; it was 20% off night, free drinks and cakes! Can't say no ^.^

As we were finishing shopping we discovered this little shop on Foubert's Place, neon lights, clean cut and X rays displayed on the walls; very modern look

The clothes are really interesting very wearable sculptural pieces, very sexy. Reminding me this design's definitely been inspired by sculpture organic forms, a bit Hussien Chalayan at a High End Price tag!

Can't complain the clothes ranging from £80-£120 though some pieces made of neoprene like fabrics were TIGHT!!

check them out! ^.^

Monday 3 May 2010

It's nice to do things; bonus the fact they are free!

Bank Holiday Monday, I wake up latish after spontaneous outing to Chinatown @ 2am for a drive and food with friends

Since I woke before 12pm I wanted to get out of the house and explore, thing was what to do and not expensive. A friend mentioned
the Garden Trail happening around London so I thought why not do something different, as I do!

So out I went to the Gardens in Wimbledon Village so beautiful refreshing to breathe some green air, being out in the spots of sunshine and nice taking photos of flowers; though i think the
camera is slowly dying after 5years of owning it (sadness)

I definitely would have wanted to take my mum to this and free! Can't complain on that four letter word! ^.^

DSM’s Market Sale

The three-day sale was crazy! Bargains that were 70-80% of RRP Bank Holiday, it rained after

Queuing for over an hour to get in… first time in a sample sale I come home empty!!

Bare Queuing getting into the warehouse building, but did see some pretty cupcakes! A lot of people dressed very well

in their beautiful pieces, definitely DSM’s kind of customers, a lot of oriental people attending the sale too

Have to admit the building had some pretty awesome Graffiti work!
