The Maze

The Maze, Gordon Ramsey's Restaurant on Grosvenor Square, Mayfair. I decided to go with a couple of girlfriends to grab some posh nosh. Louise suggested we try out one so chose The Maze.

4 courses for £28.50 can’t say no as full price would definitely be double that price without a doubt!

All the dishes were petit pieces of art for the fine dinning pallet, started off with the

“Lyonaise Salad” Pig’s head meat with smoked bacon and Quails Egg Salad

The Salmon with Quails egg, mini Squid, Aubergine Puree and Squid compote

Lamb with cream cheese-like mash very rich

Rice pudding with dark Chocolate orange and ice cream

This was really nice food, however the food was a bit too salty for our likings, likely because the Western pallet enjoy a bit more salt.

Sweets were really nice but very rich but the food was well balanced

Service was not bad, one of the waiters were really kool, had humour and a warm vibe to him; others were a bit more pushy rushing us as the table was needed for 8pm; can’t be help that we’re working people and were a bit delayed.

Once we finished our courses one of the pushy waiters moved us to the Waiting/ Bar area so they could get the table ready for the next customers. To be honest it didn't seam THAT busy on the side of restaurant we were on. Though as we left the place the other side, where the food is more expensive, looked pretty buzzing and busy!

The environment was really modern and suited the working professional, place for them to go after work or during meetings type of place.  I did enjoy trying something different, never really had fine dinning before so this was quite a treat; £40 pp inc drinks not too terrible and we got some free sweets and a complimentary rich choc pudding for Wendy’s early b’day!
